Beginner Hula & Tahitian Dance

Looking to try something new and fun? These beginner-friendly private lessons are the perfect way to explore the beautiful art of Hula and the energetic rhythm of Tahitian dance.

Hula (30 minutes):
Learn the basics of traditional Hula, including foundational steps and graceful hand motions. We'll begin by breaking down the footwork and arm movements, then put them together in a short, simple choreography. Hula is not only a cultural experience but also a gentle, expressive workout for all ages.

Tahitian Dance:
Get ready to move your hips! Tahitian dance focuses on fast, rhythmic hip movements to the beat of traditional drums. You’ll practice proper hip techniques, hand positions, and basic footwork—all while getting a great cardio workout. The lesson will end with a fun mini dance using everything you've learned.

Both Hula and Tahitian are great for kids and adults alike!

What to Bring:

  • Water bottle

  • For Tahitian: A hip wrap (pareo or similar)

  • For Hula: A pa‘u skirt (traditional Hula skirt)

Principiante Hawailno y Tahitiano

Si desea probar algo nuevo, esta es laclase perfecta para una clase privada. Aprenderás los conceptos básicos de los pasos de Hawailno y los movimientos de las manos. Level 1 & 2 – Group Improvisation Basics

Curious about Fat Chance Bellydance®? Also known as American Tribal Style® (ATS®), this modern group dance form was created by Carolena Nericcio in the 1980s. It's a powerful, graceful, and improvisational style rooted in belly dance, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, cues, and group dynamics.

Unlike traditional choreographed routines, dancers in this style improvise together in the moment, using a shared vocabulary of movements and subtle visual cues to stay in sync. One dancer leads while others follow—creating beautiful, flowing combinations as a group.

In this private lesson, you’ll learn foundational steps from Level 1 and Level 2 of the Fat Chance Bellydance® format. You’ll gain confidence in executing key movements and understanding how to follow (and eventually lead!) in a group improvisation setting.

Basic Poi Balls – Intro to Movement & Flow

Poi balls are a fun and expressive movement art that people of all ages can enjoy—perfect for both adults and children, and especially supportive for children with learning differences such as dyslexia.

Originating from the indigenous Māori culture of New Zealand, poi dancing is not only visually beautiful but also helps improve coordination, focus, and rhythm.

In this private lesson, you'll learn:

  • How to properly hold and handle poi balls

  • Basic spinning techniques, starting with one hand and progressing to both

  • Fundamental movements and timing

  • A short and simple dance combination to music using the techniques you’ve learned

Whether you're looking to try something new, improve coordination, or just have fun with music and movement, this is a great introduction to the art and energy of poi.
